why you should only consider the best tennis ball launcher for dogs

The life of dogs has changed considerably since we became more sophisticated. many, many working line dogs are now family pets rather than working animals.

but that doesn’t change your line of work instincts.

    These are very powerful instincts!

So if we want a healthy, well-balanced dog, it’s important for us to find ways to exercise prey, chew and feed.

Ball launching toys are a great way to do this.

also, we are creatures of comfort. That’s why we want toys that are comfortable and require less work so we can spend more time enjoying the game with our dogs.

I’m obsessed with toys for my dogs. And I’ve done a lot of junk shopping. so I’ve learned from my mistakes.

Buying the best tennis ball launcher for large or small dogs is an investment for several reasons…

    • You’re spending your hard-earned money, so you want something that will take a hit, balls and all!
    • you want something that really keep your dog interested in the game. if your dog is not stimulated, he will leave the game quickly.
    • you need something that is comfortable for you. I mean, what’s the point if you don’t enjoy the game?
    • Your dog’s safety is important. You want a toy design with safety in mind.

    so here goes…

the best tennis ball launcher for dogs – manual launchers

    damn! inside launcher

    Quick Summary

    • The Chuckit Indoor Launcher is perfect for those days when playing outside isn’t an option due to the weather.
    • It’s lightweight and soft, so it’s safe to play indoors. indoors without the risk of breaking a window. or decorations.
    • the soft part of the roller is machine washable and dries quickly in the air.
    • chuckit indoor ball launchers are easy to launch from any angle.
    • it has a hands-free system, which means you won’t have drool on your hands.

    detailed review

I really like this launcher. i know it looks a bit like a toilet brush in this picture above. but I wish they had them around when I was a kid. It would have saved me from breaking a bunch of my mom’s ornaments!

yes, i illegally played ball with our german shepherds inside the house.

With the chuckit indoor launcher, you can take your dog’s exercise regimen indoors!

which is great for cold, rainy or snowy days. and even those sweltering days when the heat levels outside are dangerous.

    ease of use

The chuckit inner launcher roller is light and smooth. the material is easy to clean, machine washable and air dry.

The soft roller itself is easy to cast with little effort on your part. this is a particularly real benefit. if you have too much momentum like with one of the outdoor ball launchers, you’re more likely to break something.

Since this is an indoor launching toy, you don’t want too much speed.

the chuckit inside launcher doesn’t restrict you in terms of launch position. because it’s portable, you can cast from any position at any angle.

It also has a hands-free system. This means you no longer have to bend down to get your hands on the toy. and no more slippery slime on your hands.

    design and durability design

The indoor chuckit launcher is made of hard plastic with a flexible arm for launching the roller included.

a customer reported breaking the plastic arm after accidentally hitting it against a piece of furniture. so even though it’s designed for indoor play, you’ll still need to be cautious, just as you would with an external launcher.

The chuckit indoor throwing arm is shorter than the outdoor versions for obvious reasons. shorter length reduces launch distance. which is essential for playing a potentially destructive game indoors.

however, comments on the length of the handle differ greatly. Some customers say the handle is too short, causing your hand to get in the dog’s mouth. the easy solution to this is to teach your dog to stand further away from you.

Other customer comments say the handle is too long. but I think this will only be a problem in smaller areas with very eager owners.

    Inner chuckit launcher dimensions are 3 x 4 x 18 inches.

Fun orange and blue textured material prevents layers of slime from building up during play. And not only that, it stimulates your dog’s prey drive, as most small prey are quite hairy.

You can raise the game bet by sliding the reel across the floor to keep the game unpredictable. this will make the chase much more fun and exciting.

The soft roller is designed with a center circle that makes it very easy for your dog to lift. this means it works great for any size, breed, or age.

The smooth roller means your dog and other family members are safe from injury, which is a reality when playing fetch in an enclosed area. so no black eyes or bloody nose, thankfully!

and it means your furniture, walls and floors won’t accumulate scuff marks. and that vase your grandmother gave you, that’s for sure too.

but don’t be enthusiastic either. give the roller enough momentum and aim it at an ornament near an edge and it will crash to the ground.

    pros and cons advantages

    • designed for indoor play.
    • machine washable.
    • great size for any breed.
    • center hole offers easy gripping for dogs.
    • perfect for small and large spaces.
    • launch from anywhere in the house, without risk of breakage or damage.

    • the throwing distance is not too great.
    • you can’t leave your dog alone with it. unless you want to destroy the roller.
    • If you throw it hard enough, it might gain enough momentum to break something.
    • This specific launcher cannot be used with a tennis ball.

should you buy chuckit indoor launcher?

I love the idea of playing fetch inside. I guess he’s the rebel in me! but seriously, how many times have you and your dog been cooped up because of the weather? heck, in our rainy season it could last days and days.

I think the chuckit indoor launcher should be considered as a pick for the best tennis ball launcher for dogs. and a regular feature in any decent dog toy cabinet.

    damn! max brightness pro

    Quick Summary

    • this chuckit ball shooter! It’s for those late winter afternoons and evenings when it’s time to go fetch but it’s already dark.
    • The Glow Pro can throw twice as far as a regular Chuckit due to its firm body!
    • the body is a bit stiffer than the normal blaster due to the glow in the dark material used in the design.
    • the glow pro offers approximately 30 minutes of hi-vis play before Recharging this is easy with a small flashlight.
    • Upgrade to the Max Glow Ball Pro to help your dog find his ball in low light conditions.

    detailed review

The chuckit max glow pro is designed for night play. It has a maximum glow launcher body – the white parts of the launch arm glow in the dark, very slippery if you ask me!

You and your dog are missing out if you haven’t tried the chuckit max glow pro.

    ease of use

The launcher body has a sleek design that makes it easy to launch the ball with less effort than by hand. this is a great benefit because it extends the game time, what a pleasure!

Although the chuckit max glow pro isn’t the longest thrower, it does allow you to throw the ball a decent distance.

hands-free scooping makes “reloading” easy and keeps your hands free of slippery slime that can affect launching.

although some dog owners note that the body of the launcher is too wavy to achieve a good launch.

but, other dog owners in their golden years throw the ball a good distance by letting their arm drop to compensate for the slight stiffness.

based on my research, the general opinion is that chuckit max glow pro is easy to use.

    design and durability design

The chuckit max glow pro body blaster has a solid design, making it slightly heavier than other chuckit blasters.

Total throw distance achieved differs from person to person. but the heavier blaster body could affect distance as many customers have reported that they cast much farther than other chuckit blasters.

a 54 year old customer and “…not very strong…” (words not mine) found the max glow pro comfortable to hold.

Although the max glow pro chuckit is heavier than other chuckits, the body of the blaster is sleek. this is a great advantage when going for a walk.

the dimensions of the chuckit max glow pro are 20 x 3 x 1.5 inches.

chuckit claims that max glow pro can throw a ball twice as far as a regular chuckit pitcher.

As I mentioned earlier, the blaster body of the Max Glow Pro is made of photoluminescent material. a 5-10 minute charge under bright light provides 20-30 minutes of high-visibility play.

If your dogs are anything like mine, 20-30 minutes is just a warm-up. but all you need to recharge on the go is a reasonably bright flashlight. which is something you’d probably take with you on a night hike anyway.

The blaster body of the Max Glow Pro is designed with materials that are chemically and biologically inactive.

Of course, unlike the indoor pitcher, this ball is much firmer and can cause injury if your dog gets hit in the face.

but you run the same risk no matter what kind of toy you use.

Personally, I find the regular chuckit ball that comes with this launcher to be boring. And I suggest an upgrade to the medium size chuckit max luminous ball. This will take your fetch games to a new level.

See the exciting ball upgrade: Chuckit Max Glow Ball on Amazon.

If you want to stick to the standard ball, that’s fine too, as it’s much better quality than a regular tennis ball.

    pros and cons advantages

    • designed for outdoor play at night.
    • sleek design makes it comfortable to hold and throw.
    • easy to take on walks.
    • hands free pick up.
    • quick charge: 5-10 minutes for 20-30 minutes of play.
    • ball can be upgraded to a max glow pro ball .

    • A specific color cannot be guaranteed. you will get green, blue or orange.
    • some customers have reported that the max glow pro is a bit heavy.
    • the body of the caster may be too rough for someone who has an injury or a disability.
    • the normal ball that comes with max glow pro is not one of my favorites. if you don’t like it either, you’ll have to spend a few bucks on a ball of maximum shine. however, in all honesty, these balls are very cheap.

you should buy the chuckit! max brightness pro?

This launcher is one of my favorites. It is a bit more expensive than regular chuckit pitchers. but I think it’s worth it. With quality, comfort, and added fun factor in mind, Max Glow Pro Chuckit is a definite contender for the best tennis ball launcher for dogs.

    damn! professional pitcher

    quick summary

    • The ChuckIt! Pro Launcher offers a range of different handle lengths to suit dog owners of all heights and ages.
    • The lightweight design and various handle lengths give you the ability to play in big or small spaces.
    • Its flexible body places less strain on wrists and elbows.
    • Never bend or reach for a slobber covered ball again with the hand-free pick-up design.
    • You can upgrade the tennis balls to improve throwing distance.

    detailed review

In terms of style, this chuckit looks just as sleek as the chuckit max glow pro. just that it’s designed for regular daytime use.

Playing fetch and tossing tennis balls every day can be taxing on your joints, especially your wrists, elbows, shoulders, and for some of us, your back too.

But if you’re like me, you don’t want to compromise on distance. The Chuckit Pro Launcher takes care of that launch. giving comfort and performance.

    ease of use

As with all Chuckit throwing toys, this one also features a hands-free system. so you’ll never bend down to pick up a slimy ball again.

and the hands-free pickup makes it easy to ‘reload’ even with grass, mud or water covered balls.

With a lighter overall design, the chuckit pro ball launchers give you enough control for smaller spaces. and you can also choose the length of the handle, the longest one for distance and the shortest one is ideal for traveling.

The distance will depend on the amount of force you use. but this chuckit gives enough ‘whip’ to send the ball flying up to 200 feet and still get the ball where you want it.

all with very little effort on your part.

Based on my research, some dog owners say the ball is most effectively thrown using a baseball-like pitch. there are reports of overhand throws that throw the ball directly to the ground.

but that could be because the owner needs more practice. or that the wrong size ball is being used.

I don’t think tennis balls are ideal, not to mention unhealthy for your dog. For this launcher to work properly, I suggest upgrading to chuckit. medium ultra ball.

see the chuckit ultra ball on amazon.

Chuckit Ultra Ball Medium A slightly heavier ball gives more downforce as you’re launching, making it sit snug for longer and to release at the apex – the most vertical line in the swing.

Although I suggest practicing in a larger area first, like a park, to learn what type of throws will work in a smaller space. unless you don’t mind taking out a couple of windows on your first few tries!

    design and durability design

all professional models have a robust construction, with an ergonomic and comfortable grip handle. And the Chuckit Pro Ball Launcher is no different.

many owners say they appreciate the flexibility of the launch body. because there is much less stress on the wrist. making the games last longer and providing complete fun for you and your dog.

over-molded comfort-grip handle fits perfectly in any size adult’s hand.

The dimensions of the chuckit pro are 2.6 x 3.6 x 27 inches. and it comes in different handle lengths as I mentioned: you can choose between 18m, 25m, 26l and 26xl.

    • designed for outdoor use.
    • durable plastic launch body.
    • over-molded comfort grip.
    • lightweight, ergonomic design.
    • great flexibility.
    • shot both long and short distances.
    • it is possible to upgrade the ball for better throwing results.

    pros and cons advantages

    • design is easy on wrists, elbows and shoulders.
    • comfortable over-molded grip.
    • flexible throwing arm. comfortably casts smaller and larger outdoor areas.
    • hands-free pickup.

    • If you want a better pitch, spend a little extra money and upgrade the ball.
    • Some owners complained that the pitcher body would break after a few sessions of play.

you should buy the chuckit! professional pitcher?

I love the improvements the chuckit pro has over something like the sporty chuckit. It is rated as one of the most comfortable chuckits on the market. and its versatility in throwing distance is also a plus.

Although I do recommend upgrading those horrible tennis balls. but you don’t need to update the balls… but I recommend you to do it.

The chuckit pro blaster is one of the top contenders in the manual ball blaster category. and one of the best options as the best tennis ball launcher for dogs.

    hyperpet throw-n-go tennis ball launcher

    quick summary

    • hyper pet throw-n-go is ideal for dog owners with small, delicate hands, such as children, silver surfers, or ladies of a smaller build.
    • offers hands-free pickup for No more slimy balls slipping out of your hand and affecting your throwing abilities.
    • While it’s built tough, it’s much more flexible than the chuckit! so chances are you’ll be throwing the ball much farther!
    • the launcher features a carry slot so you can easily carry an extra ball.
    • the launching cup it’s smaller than a normal ball, so you could potentially use smaller balls to play fetch.

    detailed review

The hyper pet throw-n-go is designed for daytime play outside. Personally, I’m not a big fan of this launcher.

I didn’t rate this tennis ball launcher highly in the past, but either the company upped their game or I was wrong.

I don’t mind admitting I’m wrong, and the ball launcher has some good reviews from dog owners online.

after reading your review here, you may decide to opt for this option. Read on if you’re interested in whether it should be on your list of the best tennis ball launcher for dogs.

    ease of use

The hyper pet throw-n-go has a rugged design. but it doesn’t have an overmolded handle like chuckit ball launchers. I think with daily use, this will cause your shot to suffer. but it has a molded handle that fits perfectly in the crook of your fingers.

It’s a hands-free catcher like most other tennis ball launchers.

the launcher itself is much smoother. you and your dog might like this if it suits your throwing style. can make the balls fly further.

For some owners, the soft launcher reduces torque on the ball, which reduces launch distance. I think this is due to the launch style and not necessarily the design.

but if you don’t like your blaster bending back too much, this isn’t the toy for you.

    design and durability design

Comments on comfort are mixed. a good distance is personal opinion, but some homeowners easily get 1/8 of an acre.

the handle is smaller, which means you have to exert more grip to prevent the pitcher from following the ball when released.

although some owners have said they like the smaller handle. so if you have small hands you might find it comfortable.

The hyper pet thow-n-go is slightly shorter than other tennis ball launchers. this could be good or bad when it comes to getting good pitches. and it’s a personal preference again.

The hyper pet throw-n-go tennis ball launcher has some great features.

It has a convenient carrying slot designed in the handle. saves you from having to carry an extra ball in a pocket or bag. and you have an extra ball on hand to keep your fetch game going, even if a ball is missed.

an owner said they collect abandoned balls because they have an extra place to take them. although, I would not allow my dogs to lick another dog’s ball. so abandoned balls will remain abandoned.

You too can get creative and thread a strap through the carry hole. so it is easy to carry over the shoulder on walks.

According to my research, quality is a big sticking point. some owners reported a flimsy, low-quality launcher. and some reports of the cup cracking after a couple of weeks.

    pros and cons advantages

    • you can upgrade to medium chuck-it balls. or the American dog toys fetch & glow jr. ball, medium which are much better options.
    • throwing cup can hold a smaller ball.
    • hole to carry an extra ball.
    • lightweight and flexible.
    • gentle on the joints.

    • the mount will not hold a smaller ball.
    • casting distance is not as long as some would like.
    • several complaints about poor quality.

should you buy the hyper pet throw-n-go tennis ball launcher?

In my opinion, this tennis ball launcher is a love-it-or-hate-it toy. but if you have small hands or need a super flexible blaster due to joint issues, the blaster may be just the thing.

and you should consider the hyper pet launcher as worthy of a spot as the best tennis ball launcher for dogs.

but if you’re strong and a good ball shooter, as a general rule, this might not be for you. pro launcher instead.

best tennis ball launcher for dogs – semi-automatic launchers

tennis ball launcher for nerf dogs

    quick summary

    • The nerf ball blaster for dogs is tough and designed to take some serious knocks!
    • There are no moving parts on the outside, so it’s safe for both humans and dogs .
    • slider mechanism gives you control over launch distance, making it easy to play in large or small areas.
    • throws balls up to 50 feet!
    • comes with 4 tennis balls specially designed to be safe and toxin free for dogs.
    • offers easy hands-free gripping and no more bending over!

    detailed review

Of all the semi-automatic ball launchers, the nerf dog tennis ball launcher is my favorite by far.

In all honesty, it’s one of the best toys I’ve ever bought for my dogs.

I was so excited to show our dogs the nerf dog launcher. I immediately unpacked it and took it straight out without even reading the instructions. my dogs love this thing.

and me too. makes me feel a bit like tomb raider! lol.

When you hold the nerf dog blaster in your hands, you’ll see that it’s much larger than your average blaster. it’s much cooler than that too. it’s a shotgun blaster.

We don’t use it every day because we rotate the toys to keep things unpredictable. We use it 3 times a week. for 1 hour of gameplay morning and afternoon.

It’s a pretty sturdy design. I think the plastic used is of quality. when you have it in your hand you will feel that it is solid.

At first, I was worried that the little bits of dirt would jam the mechanism. Even though it’s a hands-free pickup, you’re still putting a ball in the chamber that’s full of slime and mud.

but my husband showed me that just a shake or two after the game dislodges anything hiding inside.

Second, I was worried the release mechanism might break. it’s a powerful blaster and he wasn’t sure if he could really take the hit. so far so good.

no problems there. sometimes it’s a bit sticky, but I just press the release button and slide it a bit, this removes the stickiness.

The trigger can also be a bit sticky, but that could be because we don’t use it every day. i think if it was in daily use it would loosen up quickly. but it’s not really a big deal.

My third concern was sound. is noisy! but my dogs weren’t put off one bit by the sound.

I love the fact that the release mechanism stays in place after the ball is thrown. if it fired forward it would have been a moving part on the outside, not exactly safe.

and I think the lifespan of the toy would be greatly reduced due to the constant impact. some other blasters have moving parts on the outside, not a very clever design. but the nerf dog blaster has no moving parts on the outside.

One of my favorite features is that I can throw 2 balls at the same time. I have 2 dogs that have to play together or they go crazy. Sure, if you throw 2 balls together, they don’t have the same momentum, but I use upward throws for this.

another great feature is the fact that you have control over the launch distance. sliding the release all the way back will obviously give you the full range of distance. sliding it halfway will cut the distance in half.

Of course, this is not an exact science as other factors such as air humidity and wind also influence distance. but essentially controlling the launch point makes the nerf blaster great for smaller spaces.

I love the fact that we got 4 Nerf balls with this blaster. We are using 2 of the 4 until they are worn before using the new ones. I was surprised at how nicely the balls clean up too.

I always try to avoid toys that look like tennis balls because they hold water and start to smell after a few washes. these nerf balls don’t. I give them a good wash under running water and then squeeze out the excess water. place them on the windowsill and let them air dry.

the balls are softer than normal tennis balls. and designed to be inside your dog’s mouth. regular tennis balls are made from dyes and glues that are toxic to dogs. so I recommend using only nerf dog tennis balls.

Some dogs will run in front of the thrown ball if they are still new to the game. and kids can accidentally aim the ball at your dog.

if you want kids to play with the nerf dog blaster or if your dog is new to this kind of games. I recommend using squishy stress balls to start with. a normal tennis ball is 2.7″.

Check out this pack of 6 2.7″ stress balls on Amazon. I think they make a good substitute if you’re looking for a softer type of ball. Lighter Balls for the Nerf Dog Blaster

    ease of use

This baby is a hands-free scooper just like any of the new ball launchers on the market. and it’s very easy.

just place the barrel on top of the ball and voila! The ball fits snug enough that you can pick it up with your hands free, without affecting your throw.

Even though the nerf dog blaster is new, sliding the hammer and pulling the trigger can get sticky.

it’s big. well, big for a pitcher. It is thick and gives a more than decent distance. so you need a serious mechanism with a powerful rubber band.

don’t be put off by this, the stickiness wears off with use.

trigger mechanism and safety release make it easy to adjust the distance to your environment. print it full for a large area and less for a closed area.

The nerf dog blaster packaging claims to launch a ball up to 50 feet. the maximum distance I have driven is 42 feet.

but some owners have reported that they actually go as far as 50 feet.

    design and durability design

The nerf dog blaster is designed with comfort in mind. if you’re going to play for a long time, day after day, you need something comfortable.

Because the firing pin stays in place when you fire, there is much less recoil than other semi-automatic BBs.

It’s surprisingly light, which is great for a blaster of its power and size. and the handle is smooth and rounded. making it easier on your trigger hand.

I asked my father-in-law, who is 70 years old, to try the blaster. he has no problem firing the nerf dog blaster. and he finds it a comfortable toy to hold. he doesn’t have shoulder problems, but he does struggle with lower back and leg problems. so the hands-free function is a great advantage for him.

Read more: Does CBD Work for Dogs? – American Kennel Club

The blaster is well built and I find it durable. It is made with strong and hard plastic. and where there are joints in the parts there is no movement.

Often with ball launchers, regular use will cause the bolts to loosen. I have not experienced this so far. and has been in regular use for almost 6 months.

The dimensions of the nerf dog tennis ball launcher are 29 x 4.5 x 9 inches.

As I mentioned before, the nerf dog blaster is a hands-free blaster. so no more slimy balls and muddy hands for you!

Comes with a carry cup for an extra ball, which is great if you lose a ball.

I would like to have 2 portable cups because I play with my two dogs together. there’s ample room for an extra carry cup, so hopefully nerf will take this into account for their next model.

The firing pin is designed with a safety release, which moves the firing pin smoothly. gives you more control when pulling back on the firing pin. there’s no strain on your hands as you set launch distance, which adds to the comfort factor.

    pros and cons advantages

    • hands free pick up.
    • safety release mechanism.
    • no external moving parts.
    • additional ball mount.
    • durable construction.
    • comfortable design.
    • adjustable launch distance.
    • nerf sells replacement balls.
    • comes with 4 nerf balls designed for the nerf dog blaster.

    • some owners have reported that the launch distance is only 25 feet and not 50 feet, but I’ve gotten 50 feet when the wind is right
    • could use an extra ball carrier.
    • Some owners have reported that the nerf dog blaster broke after several uses. this could be due to mishandling or a poorly manufactured batch. but nerf is very proud of their brand and based on my research they are happy to replace any faulty blaster.
    • some dogs may be afraid of the noise but that can be changed with a little training.

should you buy the nerf dog tennis ball launcher?

    in a word yes!

I have one of these babies and can honestly say it is a good product compared to other brand pitchers. it is comfortable and gives good performance.

My dogs love the toy too! Watching them freak out with their glowing eyes when it comes out of the toy closet is half as much fun for me.

the nerf dog blaster is my top choice in the semi-automatic ball blaster category. and by far the best tennis ball launcher for dogs.

This Bazook Tennis Ball Launcher Gun – 9 is the newly improved 2017 model and can be used with regular tennis balls. to fire simply grab the handle and pull back on the rear rod.

The rear rod can also be used to adjust the launch distance. making it easy to use in large and small areas.

This blaster also features hands-free pickup, like other ball blasters. simply place the barrel on top of the ball to pick it up.

The first thing I don’t like about the bazuk – 9 tennis ball launcher is the rear shaft. it is an external moving part. I think this makes the launcher unsafe.

If your finger or worse, your child’s finger is in the wrong place when you pull the trigger, you’re looking at a potential injury. a blaster with no external moving parts like the nerf dog blaster is a much better choice if safety is important to you.

The manufacturer claims the bazook: 9 can throw a ball from 35 feet to 75 feet, but based on owner feedback, the distance is 22 to 40 feet.

    design and durability design

Based on my research, opinions on the comfort of the Bazook-9 Tennis Ball Launcher vary.

one owner said they found it easy to operate even with limited arm movement due to injury. and one owner with permanent shoulder and elbow problems had no trouble operating the pitcher.

Other owners have reported that the rear bar is sticky, making it difficult to pull back. as with other launchers, I think this will get better with use.

The bazook-9 tennis ball launcher is lightweight and easy to operate. and several reviews say it’s especially fun for kids playing fetch with their dogs.

The durability of the bazook – 9 is questionable. Many owners complained that the launcher arrived with rusty bolts.

There are also several reviews complaining of poor quality balls. some owners experienced balls splitting after the first or second pitch. and the balls have no durability if your dog is a biter.

I recommend getting a higher quality, more durable ball like tennis wool. These are all natural tennis balls for dogs. they have no harsh dyes or toxic chemicals and are made from 100% sea wool.

The dimensions of the bazook – 9 tennis ball launcher are; 23.5 x 7.5 inches. the diameter of the mouth is; 3.75″. and fully extended, the launcher is 35″ long.

the bazook – 9 comes with a handy strap for carrying. Just like a guitar strap, just put it over your head and carry the launcher across your body. this is great for taking walks. and when your dog has decided to sniff it’s more fun than fetching.

all newer ball launchers now have hands free pick up functionality. and the bazook – 9 is no different. it’s a great feature if you have back problems. and, of course, to keep your hands free of muddy drool.

the bazook – 9 comes with 2 squeaky balls. these balls squeak when they are thrown and when they land. that helps stimulate your dog’s sense of hearing.

with the bazook – 9 you will get 2 ball holders which is something I would like to see in a higher quality product like the nerf dog blaster as well.

the bazook launcher – 9 takes regular sized tennis balls. which makes it easy to find replacements.

    pros and cons advantages

    • handy strap to carry on walks.
    • hands free picking up.
    • carries regular sized tennis balls.
    • has 2 holders for balls.
    • 2 cool squeaky balls included.
    • adjustable launch distance.
    • excellent customer service.

    • complaints of poor quality.
    • shooting distance is not 75″ as manufacturer claims.
    • looks and feels cheap.
    • complaints of poor materials and quality workmanship.
    • too noisy for many dogs, but this can be changed with desensitizing training.

should you buy the bazook – 9 tennis ball launcher?

Personally, I’m not a fan of the bazook – 9 tennis ball launcher. feedback from owners is so mixed that it’s hard to make a call, which puts me off.

but if you’re looking for a blaster that can shoot balls and you’re not concerned about quality or durability, then maybe the bazook – 9 is for you.

I think a redeeming feature would be the price. The Bazook – 9 will cost you about half the cost of the Nerf Dog Blaster or the Max Ball Launcher.

If I was looking for a launcher that is cheap, to use for short term and then throw away, I would buy the bazook – 9.

But I don’t think the bazook tennis ball launcher – 9 has what it takes to be considered the best tennis ball launcher for dogs.

    detailed review

    ease of use

The Max Dog Ball Launcher is a neat unit that provides convenient hands-free pickup. so you don’t have to deal with slimy balls and muddy hands.

has an odd shape compared to other tennis ball launchers. but I think the shape is what gives him the power to propel balls further than most other pitchers.

the max dog ball launcher has a spring. simply insert the ball and pull the firing pin into the locked position. aim and pull the trigger.

The brown striker can be used to adjust the launch distance from 45 feet to 90 feet, but some owners have reported launching a ball up to 130 feet, so this is definitely not a launcher you want to use indoors. .

Based on my research, this pitcher is more consistent in throw distance than others in its category.

The design also allows you to ‘aim’ safely, without your face getting in the way! I think this is a fantastic feature for kids.

although the firing pin is an external moving part, and the firing mechanism that launches the bullet is also exposed. both factors are drawbacks in my opinion.

you can launch the max dog ball launcher straight into the air, which is my preferred way of launching. but unfortunately, you can only throw one ball at a time. if you only have one dog, this shouldn’t be a problem.

    design and durability design

The Max Dog Ball Launcher is durable and well built. the body is essentially 2 identical plastic molds held together by stainless steel screws. the fewer pieces, the more durable. and the stainless steel screws are stainless.

According to my research, the Max Dog Ball Launcher is one of the most durable ball launchers in its class. I came across a single customer who had a problem with his launcher breaking. but the damage was due to poor packaging and not a faulty unit.

The owner commended your customer service and the speed with which your new launcher was shipped.

This blaster is lightweight and comfortable on the shoulders and arms. Based on my research, several owners who have joint problems are successfully using the Max Dog Ball Launcher for extended play sessions without any pain.

Because of its safety features, it is a good toy for children. but I recommend not letting children play without supervision. one owner even uses the pitcher to practice outfielding and ball handling skills with his grandchildren.

the dimensions of the max dog ball launcher are 16 x 3.8 x 16 inches.

Unfortunately, the Max Dog Ball Launcher only comes with one ball. I think this is a bit stingy on the part of the company. considering how cheap the balls are and also because other pitchers come with at least 2 balls.

throws balls the same size as 2.7″ tennis balls. so buying some extra balls is easy. I recommend sticking to max balls for dogs and avoiding regular tennis balls. max dog balls are designed to be in your dog’s mouth. where a normal tennis ball is designed with glue and toxic materials.

I like the design that allows you to aim before you pull the trigger, making it easy to hit your target from range and avoid your dog.

    pros and cons advantages

    • hands-free dustpan.
    • lightweight and durable.
    • comfortable, even for the elderly or people with joint problems.
    • use the frisbee max launcher to make the game unpredictable.
    • you can use regular sized tennis balls. although I recommend sticking with the max dog balls that are free of toxic materials and glue.
    • adjustable launch distance.
    • yes it reaches distances declared by the manufacturer.
    • excellent customer service.

    • it only comes with 1 ball. so you need to invest in a few more.
    • you can’t throw more than one ball.
    • poor packaging can cause damage. but customer service is happy to help.
    • the firing pin and launch mechanism are exposed. I’d like to see a better design here, with no external moving parts.
    • too noisy for skittish dogs.

should you buy the max dog ball launcher?

I like the ball launcher max dog. I think it’s a solid unit. I still love my nerf though, when life runs out I’m definitely going to try this one out.

It is durable. it’s more accurate, throws consistently and you can mix things up using a ball or Frisbee. I think it is good value for money. the price reflects this, making it more expensive than other launchers. But I see it as an investment. and it’s a toy that deserves a place in any decent dog toy closet.

While I’d like to see a better design for the striker and launch mechanism, the Max Dog Ball Launcher is a contender for best tennis ball launcher for dogs.

the best tennis ball launcher for dogs – buying guide

You need to know what to look for and what to avoid. and which launcher best suits your needs. So before you spend a dime on a launcher, there are 4 factors to consider…

Your dog’s size: If you choose a toy that is too large for your dog, you run the risk of injury, such as bleeding gums when trying to catch the ball. There is also the danger of the ball getting stuck, making it impossible for your dog to drop it. if the ball is too small, it could get stuck in your dog’s throat and should be avoided at all costs.

security: you’re looking for a launcher designed with security in mind. With poor safety design, faces, hands, and fingers are at risk of injury if the launch mechanism ever breaks.

I recommend using the standard balls that come with each blaster or opting for a softer ball of the same size. avoid going with harder balls unless confirmed to be safe by the manufacturer

space – you need a launcher that can fit any space; big, small and in between. Depending on what you’re after, you’ll want something with an adjustable launch distance. or the manufacturer’s specified distance claim.

with manual ball launchers, take note of materials and design. flexible does not necessarily mean safer or farther. you should also consider the types of shot.

below hand is safer for small to medium confined spaces. while the large, open areas are perfect for overhand throws.

Cost: As I mentioned before, not all pitchers are designed and manufactured the same. I have reviewed these products not on price range but on quality. you can get a more than decent launcher for a fair price, and it’s still expensive.

Due to the nature of the toy, safety is the most important factor. so choosing the best tennis ball launcher for dogs is an investment in you, your family, and your dog.

There are so many options when it comes to tennis ball launchers. It can be overwhelming, especially if it’s your first purchase. After reading this review, you have all the information you need to buy with confidence. and choose the right tennis ball launcher for your needs. one that you and your dog will love until the cows come home.
